Privacy Policy

Infinite Turtles, LLC (the “Company”, “we”, “us” and “our”) makes OverlookWM. This Privacy Policy tells you what information we collect, what we do with it and what choices you have.

In this Privacy Policy, “Site” means the website at overlookwm.com. “Software” means OverlookWM, the desktop app for Windows 11. “You” means you, as a visitor to the Site or a user of the Software.

When you use the Site or the Software, you accept this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use.

1. The Software

OverlookWM runs only on your PC. It has no network code. It has no account, no analytics and no update check.

The Software keeps its settings, your window layout and its logs in your Windows user profile. It does not send them to us or to anyone else. We cannot see your windows, the keys that you press or how you use the Software.

2. The Site

2.1 Analytics

We use Umami, an open-source analytics tool, to count visits to the Site and to see which pages people read.

We run Umami ourselves, on a server that we control at Fly.io. No analytics company, advertising network or data broker receives this information.

For each page view, Umami records:

• The address and title of the page, and the address of the page that sent you to the Site
• Your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language
• Your approximate location (country, region and city), which Umami derives from your IP address

Umami does not record:

• Cookies. The analytics script stores nothing on your device.
• IP addresses. Umami uses your IP address in memory and never writes it to disk. It combines the address with your browser’s user agent and a random value that changes each month, and it keeps only a one-way hash of the result. The hash lets us count your page views in one month as one visitor. Because the random value changes each month, the hash cannot connect your visits in different months.
• Your identity. Umami records no name, email address or other identifier that points to you.

We delete analytics records after 24 months.

2.2 Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal or a Global Privacy Control signal, the analytics script records nothing for your visit.

The analytics script keeps its usual name and address. Content blockers and privacy extensions can recognize it and block it, and we do not try to stop them. If you block it, we do not count your visit.

2.3 Fonts, hosting and downloads

The Site loads its typeface from Google Fonts. Your browser requests the font files from Google, so Google receives your IP address and information about your browser. Google’s Privacy Policy applies to that request.

Fly.io hosts the Site. It receives your IP address and information about your browser in its routine server logs.

When you download OverlookWM, your browser gets the file from Amazon Web Services. Amazon receives your IP address and information about your browser.

3. Purchases

When you buy OverlookWM on the Site, Stripe processes the payment. You give your card details to Stripe directly. We never see or store your card number.

Stripe gives us your email address, your country and the details of your order. We use them to deliver the Software, answer your questions, give refunds and meet our tax obligations.

After the payment, Stripe sends you to a download page. Its address contains an identifier of your purchase. Each time that you download OverlookWM, the Site asks Stripe whether that purchase is paid. The Site keeps no record of its own.

4. Email

If you send us an email, we use your email address and your message to answer you.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your data. We do not sell, rent, trade or otherwise give any information about you to advertisers, data brokers, ad networks or any other party for their own purposes. This applies to aggregated and anonymized information in the same way as to your email address. We have no advertising business, we operate no ad network, and we have no plans to build either.

We use a small number of service providers. Each one receives only the information that it needs for its job:

• Fly.io hosts the Site and our analytics server.
• Amazon Web Services stores the files of OverlookWM and serves the downloads.
• Google Fonts serves the typeface of the Site.
• Stripe processes purchases on the Site.

We may share information with outside parties if we have a good-faith belief that access, use, preservation or disclosure of the information is reasonably necessary to meet any applicable legal process or enforceable governmental request; to enforce our Terms of Use, including investigation of potential violations; to address fraud, security or technical concerns; or to protect against harm to the rights, property or safety of our users or the public as required or permitted by law.

If we undergo a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition by another company, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be among the assets transferred. You acknowledge and consent that such transfers may occur and are permitted by this Privacy Policy, and that any acquirer of our assets may continue to process your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy.

6. Children’s privacy

The Site and the Software are not directed to anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect or solicit information from anyone under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from anyone under the age of 13 without the consent of a parent or guardian, we will delete that information as soon as possible. 7. Security

We protect the information that we hold with encryption and other technical security measures. These measures do not guarantee that your information will not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by a breach. When you use the Site, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.

8. Links to other websites

The Site links to other websites, for example the stores that sell OverlookWM and the sources of our research. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites or for the information or content that they contain. This Privacy Policy applies only to information that we collect through the Site and the Software. Read the privacy policy of each website before you use it.

9. Changes to this policy

We can change this Privacy Policy at any time. If we make a significant change, we will post a notice on the Site, and the change takes effect 30 days after the notice. Other changes and clarifications take effect when we post them. The date at the top of this page shows the last change.
